What is a positive mindset?

A positive mental attitude is a practice of focusing on the good in any situation of life it makes it easier for you to approach the good and the bad in life with the expectation that things will go well

But how can you be more positive? Well that's what I will be talking about in today's blog

Developing a positive mindset in these times is not easy we tend to focus more on the negative side these days since the pandemic has begun it has been a tough time for all of us we are all going through a lot of emotional distress which is giving rise to negative affirmations unfortunately negative affirmations can prove as damaging to one’s self-esteem and general outlook on life Often people do not even notice the affirmation they make every day This is since a person can make affirmations simply by thinking them or even by talking to himself. For example, a person may think he's ugly when he looks in the mirror in the morning or make an offhand remark about being overweight yet fail to realize he is making negative affirmations. I can tell you this because there was a time when I was this person and this made me realize that what I'm doing to myself is not right it's just in my head and these negative thoughts had made me a dull person In many cases, people are far more aware of the unpleasant things others say to them than the negative talk they give themselves such thoughts or statements can still have an unfortunate effect on their life Even when negative affirmations do not affect a person in such a dramatic way, they may still interfere with one's ability to fully enjoy life and appreciate themselves so how do we stop this I feel the one-way to stop having such thought and statements is by having a positive thinking

You can define positive thinking as positive imagery, positive self-talk or general optimism, but these are all still general, ambiguous concepts. A positive mindset can give you more confidence, improve your mood, and even reduce the likelihood of developing conditions such as hypertension, depression and other stress-related disorders. As we go on in life we see that life is not lived from the outside in it is lived from the inside out

you can not control the things which are happening to you but you can handle these things by maintaining the right mind Of course, it doesn’t mean everything will go the way you want it but then, you can always weather the storm by being positive.

  • Start The Day With A Positive Affirmation

Waking up with positive, infectious energy isn’t as hard as you think. If you’re struggling to make your day a great one, try practising gratefulness. It could be the thought of the rising sun that warms you, the trees that shade you or even the fact that you woke up to see it all one more time.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “He who does not thank the people is not thankful to Allah”

‘If you are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you: but if you show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed.”

(Surah Ibrahim 14:7)

“If you reject (Allah), truly Allah has no need of you; but He likes not ingratitude from His slaves; if you are grateful, He is pleased with you.”

(Surah az-Zumar 39:7)

By being grateful you are not just doing good in this world but also the next so always remember to be grateful in every situation in life

  • Focus On The Good Things

Almost invariably, you’re going to encounter obstacles throughout the day—there’s no such thing as a perfect day. When you encounter such a challenge, focus on the benefits, no matter how slight or unimportant they seem. For example, if you get stuck in traffic, think about how you now have time to listen to the rest of your favourite podcast or your favourite music. If the store is out of the food you want to prepare, think about the thrill of trying something new.

  • Use Your Humor Being To Be A Better Human Being

This one is my go-to way of dealing with any situation in life. Laughter is your natural defence mechanism. It’s a prescription from your “Humor Being” to cure the chaos that attacks you from day to day Allow yourself to experience humour in even the darkest or most trying situations. Remind yourself that this situation will probably make for a good story later and try to crack a joke about it.

  • Turn Failures Into Lessons

Every bad situation has something good to teach you to try to find that good in it instead of ranting about how bad the situation is

You aren’t perfect. You’re going to make mistakes and experience failure in multiple contexts, at multiple jobs and with multiple people. Instead of focusing on how you failed, think about what you’re going to do next time turn your failure into a lesson.

  • Focus On The Present

I’m talking about the present—not today, not this hour, only this exact moment.

Making happiness a choice is what it’s all about. No matter what your personal or professional circumstances, you can adjust your attitude and elevate your “degree of overall happiness” by choosing to shift your present mindset. When you fully appreciate that the mood you’re in right this second affects how you’ll deal with what’s coming next, you will want to make the choices that will help you to feel better, not worse. That, my friend, is a major key to living a successful, happy life.

  • Surround Yourself With Positive People

When you surround yourself with positive people, you’ll hear positive outlooks, positive stories and positive affirmations. Their positive words will sink in and affect your own line of thinking, which then affects your words and similarly contributes to the group. Finding positive people to fill up your life can be difficult, but you need to eliminate the negativity in your life before it consumes you. Do what you can to improve the positivity of others, and let their positivity affect you the same way.

Our attitude towards life determines life’s attitude towards us positive thinking always has a positive outcome
